WORKSHOPS

THE MEISNER TECHNIQUE
If you are an improviser who feels stuck in your head instead of being-in-the-moment, this workshop is for you! In this workshop we will use The Meisner Technique, including The Repetition Exercise and living truthfully under heightened Imaginary Circumstances to enhance your improvisational skills. Improvisation growth comes through getting-out-of-your-head and comfort zone.
“Taking Meisner classes provided the greatest breakthrough in my improvisational journey” – Johnny Kalita
Benefits: Building on-stage confidence, being fully present, expanding imagination and emotional range, and owning your artistic voice.
*Disclaimer: The work in this class will put you in high-stakes emotional circumstances that will cause discomfort.
ADAPTIVE REC IMPROV
We are currently working on creating an adaptive recreational program and offering a class specifically for adults who require more accommodations due to moderate to severe disabilities.
The class we will be offering is tailored to the students within it and empowers them to trust their imagination and creativity while also aiding communication skills, utilizing movement, and encouraging teamwork and play.

WORKSHOPS
JOY OF THE
TWO PERSON SCENE
Everything we love about improv is rooted in discovering the unknown truths of a scene with your partner. In this two-hour session, students will play with new ways to challenge themselves and their scene partners to dive into the unknown together. We'll emphasize agreement and collaborative heightening toward any comedic premise or game with the goal of surprising and delighting your scene partner.

THE COMPLETE SCENE:
FIVE POINT SCENIC STRUCTURE
In this workshop, students focus on learning and utilizing a simple structure to create a complete scene with a fulfilling beginning, middle, and end. The structure helps guide the improviser's choices while allowing plenty of space to play with emotion, character, point of view, and heightened comic action to manifest dynamic relationship scenes.
